During the Atlanta Falcons’ loss to the Miami Dolphins on Thursday night, former University of Georgia wide receiver Reggie Davis did his best to prove he belongs in the NFL.
In the third quarter, Davis caught a pass from quarterback Matt Simms and appeared to score a 48-yard touchdown. The play was called back because of an holding penalty on offensive lineman Eric Saubert, but it doesn’t make Davis’ footwork on the play any less impressive.
The Falcons went on to score a field goal on the drive in their 23-20 loss against the Dolphins.
Davis, who currently is listed with the Falcons’ fourth-team receivers, led the team in receiving yards Thursday with two receptions for 43 yards.
In four seasons at Georgia, Davis recorded 618 receiving yards and two touchdowns. Davis also served as a returner at Georgia, averaging 21.2 yards per kick return and 7.4 yards per punt return.
The Falcons signed Davis as an undrafted rookie free agent May 14.
