Arizona Diamondbacks first base prospect Pavin Smith gave his parents a present to remember for Christmas on Monday.
Smith’s parents were recorded reading a letter Smith wrote sharing his love for them and revealing that he paid off his parents’ mortgage.
“The home is finally yours! All the lessons, all the travel,” Smith wrote on Instagram. “I am so thankful. I wouldn’t be where I am today without you. I love you both so much! Merry Christmas.”
After playing college baseball for the Virginia Cavaliers from 2015-2017, the 21-year-old from Jupiter, Fla. was drafted seventh overall by the Diamondbacks in the 2017 MLB Draft.
