AJC Varsity is tracking which GHSA football games are being played Thursday, Oct. 8.

Although the Maxwell Ratings reflect team strength, the simulation highlights the impact of the season’s structure as defined by games, region alignments and playoff brackets.

Only Jackson County is undefeated with its current record (6-0) for the first time.

The GHSA is amending its process for reporting scores to improve the timeliness of accurate Post Season Rankings (PSR) standings.

Class 7A Valdosta High leads the pack with 56 points.

The Indians earned the AJC honor after coming back from 22 down to upset the previously undefeated No. 2 team in Class 3A, Hart County.
