Houston Texans defensive end J.J. Watt posted a photo Wednesday on Instagram after having season-ending surgery on Monday.

In the photo, Watt can be seen walking on crutches in a hospital hallway with the caption, “One step at a time.”

Watt suffered a season-ending tibial plateau fracture during the Texans’ loss to the Kansas City Chiefs on Sunday night.

Watt is expected to keep weight off his leg for six to eight weeks followed by another six to eight weeks of therapy before returning to sports-related activities, according to Houston Methodist orthopedic sports medicine surgeon Dr. Patrick McCulloch and the Houston Chronicle.
