Since Tim Tebow was traded from Denver to the New York Jets, it wouldn't do to have a dog named Bronco. So rather than get a new pet, the popular quarterback with the unconventional throwing style decided to change the pooh's name -- slightly.

The Rhodesian Ridgeback's new name is Bronx, which is close enough to Bronco that it shouldn't confuse the dog and conjures images of New York, if not the spots where the Jets actually play, train and practice, all of which are in New Jersey.

Naturally, the Twitterverse was crackling with the news, with many #RejectedTebowDogNames.

Some of the more clever: Elway, Spiral, Completion, Peyton and -- of course -- Paulie Walnuts.
