The Georgia State basketball team will provide a peek into what to expect in the regular season when it hosts Clayton State in an exhibition game at the GSU Sports Arena at 7 p.m. Friday.

This will be the first meeting between the two teams. Admission is free and does not require a ticket.

The Panthers were 16-6 in 2020-21 and reached the Sun Belt Conference title game. All five starters return, including preseason all-conference picks Corey Allen, Kane Williams and Eliel Nsoseme.

Clayton State was picked to finish eighth in the Peach Belt Conference. Vince Alexander is in his first season as the head coach, and the roster includes 12 new players. Senior Ricardo Saams averaged 13.3 points last season.

Georgia State is 16-0 in exhibition games since 2011.

The regular-season opener is at home against Brewton-Parker at 7 p.m. Tuesday.
