My ratings for Atlanta United's player from Sunday's 1-1 draw with Portland at Mercedes-Benz Stadium:

Goalkeeper Brad Guzan, 7: Finished with three saves and it seemed like each were on tough shots.

Right fullback Franco Escobar, 6.5: Two headers early, one saved off the line in the 21st minute. ... Yellow card in 32nd minute from which Portland scored its goal. ... Tracked back well on defense on counter-attacks.

Centerback Michael Parkhurst, the captain, 7: Completed 95.7 percent of his passes and didn’t need to make a tackle. ... Combined to do a decent job of limiting the influence of Diego Valeri.

Centerback Leandro Gonzalez Pirez, 7: Two tackles, two fouls won, helped hold Valeri to one shot.

Left fullback Mike Ambrose, 7.5: Put in a few good crosses in his shift and created two chances.

Defensive midfielder Jeff Larentowicz, 7.5: Finished with a team-high four tackles. ... Forced Portland to go around, rather than up the middle.

Midfielder Darlington Nagbe, 6: Forced off with an injury after Julian Gressel’s goal ... One shot and two chances created.

Attacking midfielder Miguel Almiron, 7: Two shots, both on target and three chances created.

Right midfielder Julian Gressel, 8: Scored his second goal this season and seventh of his career to tie the game. ... Led the team with four chances created.

Left midfielder Ezequiel Barco, 7.5: Three chances created, two shots, for fouls won, still would like to see more initiative from him.

Striker Josef Martinez, 5: Wearing a black mask to protect his broken nose, Martinez missed two chances in the first half and two more in the second half. A frustrating game for him for lots of reasons.

SUBS
