The U.S. women’s national soccer team will host Russia at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 12 at the Georgia Dome.

This will be the first appearance in Atlanta for either the men’s or women’s national team since the men defeated China 1-0 at Fulton County Stadium on Oct. 10, 1977. The women’s team defeated China in Kennesaw in 2010.

This will be the first of two international soccer events at the Dome in as many months. Two teams participating later this year in the men’s World Cup, Mexico and Nigeria, will play in an exhibition game on March 5.

The U.S. women, the top team in FIFA’s world rankings, are 5-0-1 against Russia, which is ranked No. 21. The two teams will also meet on Feb. 8 in Boca Raton, Fla.

Tickets will go on sale at 10 a.m. on Jan. 18 by phone at 800-745-3000 and at Ticketmaster outlets.
