Jess Simpson’s tenure at Georgia State was very short-lived.

The former Buford High School head coach, who was hired by new Panthers head coach Shawn Elliott in December, is now leaving the Panthers to join Dan Quinn's staff with the Atlanta Falcons.

Terms of the deal are being finalized.

Simpson was part of 10 of Buford’s 11 state championships. His record at the high school was 164-12. He was hired by new Georgia State football coach Shawn Elliott in December.
