1. Braves start series at Washington
The Atlanta Braves begin a three-game series at the Washington Nationals on Tuesday at 7:05 p.m.
2. Georgia Tech, UCF canceled after Hurricane Irma
In wake of Hurricane Irma, Georgia Tech's matchup against the University of Central Florida in Orlando, Fla. on Saturday has been canceled, the Institute announced on Monday. The game will not be made up.
3. Braves close to signing Korean shortstop
The Atlanta Braves are close to signing 18-year-old Korean shortstop Jihwan Bae. David O'Brien has more.
4. Gainesville High School alumus Deshaun Watson expected to be named Texans starter
According to a report by NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson is expected to be named starting quarterback for Thursday's game at the Cincinnati Bengals. Watson recorded 102 passing yards and one touchdown in the second half of Sunday's loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars.
5. Georgia jumps to No. 13 in polls
With a win over No. 24 Notre Dame on Saturday, Georgia rose from a No. 15 ranking in the AP Poll to No. 13. The biggest changes in the AP Poll can be read on the AJC.com.
