Forward Andre Iguodala is reportedly looking at leaving the Golden State Warriors for the 2017-2018 season and the Atlanta Hawks could be a landing spot.
A free agent, Iguodala will "seriously consider" other teams besides the Warriors this summer, according to The Vertical's Shams Charania.
Citing League sources, the Vertical reported the Utah Jazz, Los Angeles Clippers, Chicago Bulls, Minnesota Timberwolves and Hawks are all considered likely destinations if the 2015 NBA Finals MVP leaves the Warriors.
“Prospective teams would need to show in meetings a vision to move toward contention to pry Iguodala from Golden State, league sources said,” Charania wrote. “In four seasons with the Warriors, Iguodala, who made $11.1 million this past season, has served as a playmaker and primary wing defender and established himself as a high-character leader.”
With former Warriors assistant general manager Travis Schlenk being named Hawks head of basketball operations and general manager in May, the Hawks could have a special draw. Schlenk was with the Warriors organization for 12 seasons.
Last season with the Warriors, Iguodala shot 52.8 percent from the field. The 12-year veteran also averaged 7.6 points per game, 4.0 rebounds per game and 3.4 assists per game.
