The winning design for the 46th annual Atlanta Journal-Constitution Peachtree Road Race T-shirt was revealed today, just as the first of 60,000 participants crossed the finish line.

The design is "Americana," by Tina Tait, a graphic designer and creative director, and Atlanta resident for 20 years.

"Americana" is a demonstration of Tait's love of folk art and all the forms of Americana, she said.

The public agrees, as it was their votes which earned her the No. 1 spot — and a $1,000 cash prize.

Tait has said the road race has been key in her own personal fitness, and this year marks her fourth run.

"I’ve lost 130 pounds through the first two, and last year became a coach for In-Training for Peachtree [Atlanta Track Club’s official training program]. The journey has been amazing," she told the track club.
