The AJC Peachtree Road Race is one of the premier Fourth of July traditions in Atlanta with its festive atmosphere, scenic city course and beloved finisher’s T-shirt. Organized by Atlanta Track Club, the event attracts 60,000 runners and walkers of all ages and abilities each year. Below is general information that you will find useful for race day:

Date:
Monday, July 4, 2016

Location:
The AJC Peachtree Road Race starts in Buckhead near Lenox Square Mall and ends in Piedmont Park.

Registration:

Start time:
Start times vary by wave. View the wave start times here.

Course:
The course starts at Lenox Square and travels down Peachtree to 10th Street in Midtown. The finish is located on 10th Street just outside of Piedmont Park.

T-shirts and awards:
All finishers will receive a 2016 AJC Peachtree Road Race T-shirt. Voting for the 2016 AJC Peachtree Road Race T-shirt Design Contest is closed March 22.

Age Group Awards for the top three men and women in each age group are mailed to participants after results are finalized.  The first 1000 finishers also receive a commemorative Top 1000 Finisher mug. 

Getting to the race:
Event participants and spectators are strongly encouraged to take MARTA. Runners can use the Lenox station for the start and the Midtown or Art Center station for the finish. There is no parking available at the start or finish.

Training for the race:
First-time runners and veterans alike, take notice: While registering for this year's race you can sign-up for a 12-week training course through the Atlanta Track Club — one way to work on improving you finish time or, for first-timers, to prep for your first 10K.

The Peachtree Junior
The Blue Cross Blue Shield of Georgia Peachtree Junior is an event for kids of all ages. Held May 14 at Piedmont Park in Atlanta, it will feature a 3K fun run for kids ages 7-14, a 1/2K for ages 5-9 and 50-meter dash for ages 6  and under. 

It is designed to offer kids the experience, excitement and prestige of the AJC Peachtree Road Race under safe conditions and without the pressures of competition.  Click here to learn more and to register.

Peachtree Health and Fitness Expo
The Peachtree Health and Fitness Expo and number pick-up will be at Georgia World Congress Center (362 Ivan Allen Jr. Blvd. Atlanta, GA 30313, Exhibit Hall C1) .The expo is free and open to the public at the following times:

  • Saturday, July 2, 2016: 9 a.m.-6 p.m.
  • Sunday, July 3, 2016: 9 a.m.-6 p.m.
