Seahawks coach Pete Carroll said he was encouraged by preliminary tests on Ricardo Lockette, who was carted off the field after a violent hit in the game against the Cowboys.
Lockette has a concussion, but moved his hands and feet before being carted off the field. He gave a sign of support to his teammates as he was being carted off.
Carroll said the wide receiver would spend the night at a Dallas hospital Sunday for additional tests and observation.
The hit happened on a special teams play with 12 seconds remaining in the first half. Lockette was hit by Cowboys strong safety Jeff Heath. Lockett fell on his right side and appeared to remain motionless until medical crews from both teams reached him.
Heath was penalized for a blindside hit, though TV commentators noted Lockette appeared to see Heath coming.
It was not clear if he was just knocked out, though crews restrained Lockette’s head and neck area to put him on the cart.
