The broadcast of the Daytona 500 on FOX Sunday dropped 23 percent compared to last year's broadcast, USA TODAY reported Tuesday.

Sunday's race, won by Austin Dillon, drew an averaged 5.1 in metered markets compared to a 6.6 overnight rating last year, Fox Sports reported Monday.

USA TODAY reported Sunday’s Daytona 500 rating scored less than half of what NBC recorded 12 years ago.
