Ex-UGA coach Mark Fox traveling with Hawks on 5-game road trip

Georgia hired Mark Fox on April 3, 2009. Fox came from the University of Nevada to replace Dennis Felton. Georgia was 163-133 in nine seasons under Fox. Georgia had four 20-win seasons under Fox, tied for the most in school history. Georgia made two NCAA tournament appearances (2011, 2015) in Fox's nine seasons. The Bulldogs did not win either of those two NCAA games, losing to Washington and Michigan State. Fox guided the Bulldogs to a 77-79 record in SEC play. Georgia finished tied for second in the SEC

Former Georgia coach Mark Fox will travel with the Atlanta Hawks on the team’s five-game road trip, according to a report by ESPN’s Jeff Goodman, which later was confirmed by team officials.

Goodman reported Fox received interest from “multiple openings”, but Fox said he won’t meet with any teams for “at least a week.”

Fox was fired from Georgia after nine seasons March 10, one day after the Bulldogs lost to Kentucky 62-49 in the third round of the SEC tournament.

The Hawks will travel to play the Utah Jazz (Tuesday), the Sacramento Kings (Thursday), the Golden State Warriors (Friday), the Houston Rockets (Sunday) and the Minnesota Timberwolves (March 28) on their road trip.
