Cleveland Cavaliers star LeBron James informed the Cavaliers Friday he will not exercise his $35.6 million option for the 2018-2019 season and will become an unrestricted free agent, ESPN’s Brian Windhorst reported.

“This decision is favorable to the Lakers chances, hurts the Rockets chances and the Cavs remain firmly in mix,” Windhorst tweeted in part.

This news is breaking and will be updated as the story develops.
