Atlanta United midfielder Chris McCann will go on loan at Coventry City, according to the Coventry Telegraph.

He will join the Sky Blues until the new year, when he will join the MLS expansion club for its first training camp.

Coventry City is in England’s League One, or third division.

McCann is a 28-year-old native of Ireland who has played for Burnley and Wigan Athletic.

Atlanta United has several players on loan:

Goalkeeper Alex Tambakis, forward Jeffrey Otoo and midfielder Andrew Carleton are with Charleston in the USL. Midfielder Junior Burgos is with Tampa Bay in the NASL.

Kenwyne Jones is reportedly going to go on loan with a club in his native Trinidad and Tobago.

Reported signing Hector Villalba, a forward from Argentina, has been linked with clubs in Mexico and England as possible destinations.
