New York Mets general manager Sandy Alderson predicts former Florida Gators and NFL quarterback Tim Tebow will one day reach the major leagues.

Alderson's voiced his opinion Sunday as players, including Tebow, arrived in Port St.Lucie, Fla., for spring training. The Mets announced in January that Tebow was one of 10 players in the their organization to be invited to spring training.

"He's been super for us the first year-plus," Alderson said, according to New York Post writer Nike Puma. "He's made progress on the field and he's dedicated himself to improving. He has spent a lot of time in the offseason working with hitting coaches."

Since signing a minor-league contract with the Mets in September 2016, Tebow has played with the Mets' High-A and Single-A teams, batting .226 in 486 plate appearances.
