Lawrenceville’s Walker Zimmerman will make his first appearance for the U.S. men’s national soccer team in Friday’s game against Jamaica in Chattanooga, Tenn.

Manager Bruce Arena made the call, which was tweeted out by U.S. Soccer (@ussoccer).

That will mean that Zimmerman will either start or come in as a sub.

Zimmerman is a centerhalf for FC Dallas. The 23-year-old was selected by Dallas with the seventh pick in the first round of 2013 draft after two seasons at Furman. He has made 67 appearances, including 53 starts for Dallas.

He has played for the U.S. at various youth levels.

Atlanta United’s Greg Garza made his 10th appearance for the U.S. in last week’s 0-0 tie with Serbia in San Diego. Romario Williams, another Atlanta United player, is on Jamaica’s roster for the game.
