Kennesaw State will no longer use a lottery system for home football game student ticket sales, the University announced on Tuesday.

In addition to the removal of the lottery system, the Kennesaw State Department of Athletics will implement a few changes to the student-ticketing process in 2017.

Students will now claim football tickets starting the Monday of game week using their student-ticket accounts.

The changes resulted from meetings with students, the KSU community, student government and the Department of Athletics over the past few months. The Student Government Association voted unanimously on April 12 to eliminate the lottery because students said the system was unreliable.

More details about the student-ticketing process will be available this summer.

The Owls’ home opener at Fifth Third Bank Stadium is on Sept. 9 against Tennessee Tech.  The first game of the season will be on Aug. 31 at Samford.
