Who are the NHL's top fighters?

Aug 25, 2009

An unscientific look at some of the best fighters in NHL history (in no particular order).

● Bob Probert

Generally considered the toughest and most feared fighter in NHL history.

● Dave “Tiger” Williams

Holds the record for most NHL career penalty minutes (3,966). That’s almost three days.

● Dave Schultz

“The Hammer” was the most notable of Philadelphia’s Broad Street Bullies.

● Tony Twist

A feared enforcer, he was a relentless puncher.

● Gordie Howe

Not many wanted to fight Mr. Hockey,” especially before helmets.
