Chris Chelios and Tim Stapleton will be in the playoffs.

One day after the Thrashers were eliminated from playoff contention, the team re-assigned both players to AHL Chicago on Wednesday so they could play for the Wolves in the Calder Cup playoffs, which start Wednesday.

Chelios, the 48-year-old defenseman, appeared in seven games for the Thrashers after being signed as a free agent in March. Stapleton appeared in six games for the Thrashers after being recalled from Chicago on March 26, scoring two goals.
