Walton and M.L. King got a small boost in the high school football rankings after scoring big victories last week.

In games between unbeaten teams, Walton beat Lassiter 34-10, and M.L. King defeated Valdosta 16-3. M.L. King is No. 7 in this week's high school football rankings. Walton is No. 8.

Hillgrove, which edged unranked Harrison 21-14 last week, dropped two spots, but the Hawks can gain full redemption this week in its game against No. 1-ranked McEachern.

Only two ranked teams lost last week. Stockbridge was knocked off by Drew. Gainesville took Stockbridge's place in the AAA rankings.

Fitzgerald defeated Cook in a game between ranked AA teams. Appling County entered the AA rankings. Cook is out.
