Mark Hollars is out as Commerce’s coach after four seasons. The Class A school posted the opening Tuesday.

Hollars’ teams were 31-16 overall, won a region title in 2023 and finished 8-4 in 2024. Commerce lost to Athens Academy 29-28 in September in a game that decided this year’s Region 8-A Division I championship and fell to No. 1 Toombs County 48-21 in the second round of the playoffs.

“I respect the school’s decision and look forward to my next opportunity to coach,” Hollars told the AJC. “I’ve still got a lot of coaching in me, and I feel good about what we’ve done here.”

Hollars, an Ohio native, was North Cobb Christian’s coach the previous five seasons and led that program to its first 10-win season in 2018.
