The Hawks signed guard Shelvin Mack for the remainder of the season Tuesday. The move was expected, as the team has dealt with injuries at point guard for much of the season.
Mack’s second and final 10-day contract expired Tuesday, a day after the reserve scored 10 points in a loss at the Pacers. In nine games with the Hawks, Mack averaged 2.6 points and 1.2 assists in 6.7 minutes.
Mack, 6-foot-3, originally signed with the Hawks on March 6 from the Maine Red Claws of the NBA Development League, where he was an All-Star.
In his second season out of Butler, Mack also appeared in seven games with the Wizards and four games with the 76ers. He appeared in 64 games with the Wizards last season.
After losing Lou Williams for the season with a torn ACL, the Hawks signed Jannero Pargo to two 10-day contracts. They elected not to keep him for the remainder of the season following the expiration of the final contract. Guards Jeff Teague (sprained left ankle) and Devin Harris (sore left foot) have missed time this season.
Harris re-injured his foot Sunday in a win over the Bucks. He did not return after leaving the game in the third quarter and did not play Monday. The Hawks play the third of a four-game trip Wednesday against the Raptors.
