Jason Dufner made putts on holes No. 16 and 17 at the Tour Championship Friday … and just walked away. There was no retrieving his ball.

A split in the seat of your pants will do that.

Dufner awkwardly bent down to retrieve his ball on No. 18. Was he injured? No. Television camera revealed a significant rip in his pants.

There was no use risking embarrassment on the final hole.

Dufner finished his second round at the Tour Championship at East Lake Golf Club with a 3-under par 67. It left him at 5-under par for the tournament, good for a tie for seventh.

He will, no doubt, wear a different pair of pants Saturday.
