Ollie Schniederjans of Georgia Tech and Anthony Maccaglia of Oglethorpe were chosen to represent the United States in the Palmer Cup from June 26-28 at Walton Heath Golf Club in Surrey, England.
Schneiderjans, a junior from Powder Springs, ranks sixth in the World Amateur Golf Ranking. He has won four tournaments this year and is the eighth Tech player picked for the Palmer Cup. Maccaglia, a junior from Tampa, Fla., is a two-time All-American who becomes the first Division III player to be chosen for the Palmer Cup.
The Palmer Cup is a Ryder Cup-like international event that matches the best college players from the United States against those from Europe. The Atlanta Athletic Club will host the Palmer Cup in 2017.
