Former Georgia Tech quarterback Tucker Gleason, who placed his name into the transfer portal in mid-December, has announced his transfer to Toledo.

Gleason, a freshman, played in two games this season behind starter Jeff Sims. Gleason was the first prospect to announce his commitment to Tech in March 2019, as a high-school junior.

Gleason will step into a situation where the starter (Eli Peters, who coincidentally is a graduate of Jeff Sims’ alma mater, Sandalwood High in Jacksonville, Fla.) finished his senior season and his backup, Carter Bradley, finished his sophomore season.

Pending an expected decision from the NCAA to grant all athletes with the freedom to transfer once without having to sit out a year, Gleason will have four years of eligibility and will be eligible to play immediately.
