The Georgia Tech men’s basketball team will appear on one of the ESPN networks 16 times this season. The women’s team will have nine appearances, all on ACC Network. The ACC released tipoff times and television assignments for the league for both men’s and women’s basketball on Wednesday.
Coach Nell Fortner’s team will have its first ACC Network game on Nov. 20 in its home game against rival Georgia. The remaining eight ACC Network assignments will take place during ACC conference play. An additional 18 Yellow Jackets games will be carried on various platforms, including ACC Network Extra, regional sports networks (including Bally Sports South in Atlanta), Big Ten Network and FloHoops. The women’s team opens the season Nov. 10 at home against Georgia State.
The men’s team could play up to six games on ESPN, ESPN2 or ESPNU, 10 or 11 games on ACC Network, seven on regional sports networks, five on ACC Network Extra and two on FS1.
Coach Josh Pastner’s team will have two 9 p.m. (ET) tipoffs, at Iowa Nov. 29 in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge (which starts at 8 p.m. local time) and at Clemson Jan. 24.
All of Tech’s midweek ACC games begin at 7 or 7:30 p.m. and the league games played on Saturday are scheduled to tip off at 5 p.m. or earlier. The start time for one league game, against Virginia on New Year’s Eve, has not been set.
The start time and television assignment for Tech’s Nov. 12 game at Georgia State have yet to be determined.
What time both schools’ football teams play that day – Tech at home vs. Miami and Georgia State at home vs. Louisiana-Monroe – will likely impact the start time for the basketball game. Kickoff times are generally determined 12 days ahead of game day.
