Georgia Tech will play its Oct. 2 home game against Pittsburgh at noon, with the game being broadcast on ACC Network. The ACC made the announcement Monday.

It’s the second home noon start for the Yellow Jackets (the Kennesaw State game was the first) and the third game on ACC Network (after the season opener against Northern Illinois and this Saturday’s game against North Carolina at Mercedes-Benz Stadium). Pitt has won the past three games in the series, including last year’s 34-20 home loss for Tech.

By scheduling quirk, it’s the third consecutive year that the Panthers will play at Bobby Dodd Stadium. They played in Atlanta in 2019 as they are scheduled to do in odd-numbered years, but then were assigned to play at Tech last year when the ACC reconfigured the schedule due to COVID-19.

Tech was in the same situation, and would be making its third trip to Miami in as many years had last year’s game not been canceled at the end of the season. The ACC elected to treat last year’s schedule as a one-off season and not take home/away sites for that season into consideration for the 2021 schedule.
