Georgia Tech coach Josh Pastner has received perhaps the biggest commitment of his tenure, a four-star shooting guard from Callahan, Fla., by the name of Dallan “Deebo” Coleman. In an announcement at his high school Wednesday that was streamed on social media, Coleman unzipped a black warmup jacket that revealed a navy Georgia Tech T-shirt.

Pastner, entering his fifth season, has not had a signee rated higher than Coleman, who wields a soft touch from 3-point range and is listed at 6-foot-6 and 210 pounds. Coleman picked Tech over Texas Tech and Ole Miss. Florida, Florida State and Louisville were among a number of schools that had offered him a scholarship.

The scouting report on his 247Sports page praises his “silky shot" and described him as “a physical shooting guard with a smooth and skilled game. Not an overly explosive athlete, but can impose himself on the court with the combo of his strength, skill, basketball IQ and smooth athleticism.”

Coleman is ranked the No. 49 prospect in the 2021 class (247Sports Composite) and joins guard Miles Kelly, formerly of Parkview High and now at Hargrave Military Academy in Virginia. Kelly, the No. 112 player in the class and another four-star prospect, committed to Tech in September.

To this point, guard Michael Devoe, the No. 51 player in the 2018 class, has been the highest-rated signee since Pastner took the job at Tech in 2016.
