Georgia Tech guard earns national honor

Georgia Tech guard Kara Dunn was one of five players named to the Ann Meyers Drysdale national women’s honorees of the week, the U.S. Basketball Writers Association announced Tuesday.

Dunn, a 5-foot-11 junior from Dallas, scored 28 points, grabbed seven rebounds, tallied three assists and a steal in Sunday’s 100-61 win over Pittsburgh as the Yellow Jackets moved to 14-0. Dunn is averaging 14.8 points per game and a team-leading 6.2 rebounds per game.

Dunn was honored along with Washington guard Elle Ladine, Notre Dame guard Olivia Miles, Maryland guard Kaylene Smikle, Southern California guard JuJu Watkins.

Dun and the Jackets (14-0, 2-0 ACC) host Syracuse (6-6, 0-1 ACC) at 7 p.m. Thursday at McCamish Pavilion.
