THREE STORYLINES
Can Duke end the streak? Georgia Tech has won nine in a row (and 17 of the past 18) against the Blue Devils, its longest winning streak against any ACC school since it joined the conference in 1983. Among ACC opponents, only Florida State (18 games) and Virginia Tech (12) own longer active winning streaks over Duke.
How will Vad Lee's homecoming go? The Tech quarterback grew up in Durham, N.C., about three minutes from Duke. As of Monday, he had about 40 ticket requests from friends and family. The last time he played near home: Nov. 10, 2012 — Tech 68, North Carolina 50.
Will B-backs blast again? Last year, B-backs David Sims and Zach Laskey powered over Duke for a combined 142 rushing yards. In the opener, both contributed big plays. Tech will look again to the twosome to power the engine.
MATCHUP TO WATCH
Georgia Tech WR Darren Waller vs. Duke CB Ross Cockrell. Waller impressed teammates and coaches in preseason camp, but had to miss the first game for violating team rules. Cockrell is tied for the most career interceptions among active ACC players.
