THREE STORYLINES

Can Georgia State score enough against Arkansas State? The Red Wolves' defense, led by former Georgia State coordinator John Thompson, has allowed 25.3 points per game, the second-lowest mark in the Sun Belt. The Panthers have averaged 17.5 points per game, the lowest in the conference.

Can the defense cut out the big-play errors? The Panthers gave up scoring plays of 80, 50 and 36 yards in last week's loss to Louisiana-Lafayette. Each of the plays likely could have been stopped if Georgia State's defenders played their assignments. Arkansas State has averaged 29 points per game with a balanced offense that has averaged 219 passing yards per game and 212.3 rushing.

Last chance for a road win. This is the Panthers' last chance to win on the road this season. They have given up an average of 31 points in two conference games on the road while scoring an average of 13.5.
