It’s taken nine games, but the Atlanta Falcons offense finally did it.

The Falcons offense scored a touchdown in n the third quarter - a season first - of Sunday’s contest against the Dallas Cowboys at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

Quarterback Matt Ryan led Atlanta down the field to open the second half on an 11-play, 75-yard drive that lasted 6:34. Ryan capped the drive with a bullet to wide receiver Justin Hardy in the back of the end zone for the touchdown. That put the Falcons up 17-7.

In the Falcons first eight games, the defense scored a touchdown and Matt Bryant hit four field goals.
