The Clemson Tigers needed something to go right for them coming out of halftime  in Monday’s Sugar Bowl.

They got it on the first Alabama offensive snap in the third quarter. Fifteen seconds into the second half, Jalen Hurts attempted to hand the ball off to running back Damien Harris. However, it looked like there was some miscommunication on whether Harris was supposed to take the handoff or not. The ball plopped to the turf between Hurts and Harris, where Clemson’s Kendall Joseph fell on the loose ball at the Crimson Tide 20-yard line.

The Tigers converted the turnover into three points as kicker Alex Spence hit a 42-yard field goal, making the score 10-6 Crimson Tide early in the third quarter.
