Atlanta native Jerick McKinnon is heading from the twin cities to the bay area after the former Minnesota Vikings running back signed with the San Francisco 49ers on Wednesday.

The 25-year-old free agent out of Sprayberry High School in Marietta signed a four-year deal worth $30 million, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

McKinnon, who played his college ball at Georgia Southern, was selected by the Vikings in the third round of the 2014 draft.

He had his best season in 2017 as he set a career-high in rush yards (570), total touchdowns (5), receptions (51) and receiving yards (421). McKinnon is set to become the feature back for the first time in his career after the 49ers parted ways with their starter Carlos Hyde.
