Falcons defensive end Osi Umenyiora was visibly displeased when he was replaced by Malliciah Goodman in a second-and-goal situation in the second quarter o against the Bears.

“Well, you know, it was a crucial situation,” Umenyiora said. “I felt like I could have helped.”

He may have had a point.

On the ensuing play, Bears quarterback Jay Cutler completed a 3-yard touchdown pass to Josh Morgan as he was faced with little pressure. The score put the Bears up 10-3 following the point-after.

Umenyiora ripped both chin strap snaps off as he came off the field. Following the touchdown, several coaches and players came up to speak to Umenyiora as he paced along the sideline.

“The coaches have a plan and whatever it is that they ask me to do, I have to do a better job of controlling my emotions,” Umenyiora said. “That’s all.”
