The Falcons will officially break camp today, meaning players are no longer confined to their living quarters at the team’s Flowery Branch headquarters. Coach Dan Quinn ended camp’s last official practice with some fun that included a running competition between members of the team’s equipment staff and a field-goal attempt by wide receiver Mohamed Sanu (he made his second try after getting “iced” with a timeout before missing his first kick).

Later in the day Falcons coaches were to meet and evaluate how the team met the goals set by Quinn before camp: be the “best attacking team in ball,” improve the turnover ratio, thrive in competitive situations at end of games, emphasize team speed and establish communication.

“I’ve been pleased with the guys’ work,” Quinn said. “We’ve stressed them and tried to put them in as many pressure scenarios as we could. That happened again today. We are going to keep doing that and see who operates the best when the heat is on.”

Falcons camp opened on with players reporting on July 28. Monday’s practice was the 13th of camp, not including evening walk-through session.

Quinn condensed Monday’s schedule by having a brief walk-through following practice that included the fun and games.

“The thing I’ve been most pleased with the camp is the guys are putting out,” Quinn said. “They are putting work out for each other and that’s really where it starts. Just totally bust it for the guy you are going with, and that’s when you get really good. That part of our work ethic has been on point.”
