Falcons linebacker Tony Gilbert, who suffered a hamstring injury on Sunday against Philadelphia, was placed on injured reserve and will be out for the reminder of the season.

Tight end Jason Rader was signed to take Gilbert's place on the roster. Tight end Justin Peelle suffered a concussion against Philadelphia and has been declared out for Sunday's game against the New Orleans Saints.

Gilbert, a former University of Georgia  player, was the backup at middle linebacker and played mostly on special teams.

Also, the Falcons released wide receiver Troy Bergeron and re-signed fullback Verron Haynes to the 53-man roster. Bergeron will likely be re-signed to the Falcons practice if he clears waivers.
