Raiders wide receiver Amari Cooper was voted to the Pro Bowl for his standout rookie season. Then Sunday at the Saints he had six catches for 137 yards , plus a two-point conversion for the go-ahead score.

Cooper is such a threat that Falcons coach Dan Quinn said it’s possible that his best cornerback, Desmond Trufant, will shadow Cooper during Sunday’s game at Oakland.

It can be difficult for a cornerback to follow one receiver because he can line up at various locations within formations but Quinn said Trufant is versatile enough to handle the job.

“At times there will be some match-ups based on the down and distance and certainly some of the calls,” Quinn said. “We’ve worked hard at ‘Tru’ being able to play a number of different spots so, yeah, you will see him in different locations during the game.”

Trufant has been the Falcons’ top cover cornerback since they selected him in the first round of the 2013 draft. He was Pro Football Focus’ defensive rookie of the year and last season was targeted fewer times than any cornerback in the league.Trufant was named to his first Pro Bowl team in 2015.
