The Falcons, thin at wide receiver, signed Marvin Hall from their practice squad and placed running back Brian Hill, a fifth-round draft pick from Wyoming, on waivers Saturday.

Veteran wide receiver Mohamed Sanu has a hamstring injury and was declared out Friday for Sunday’s game against the Miami Dolphins.

Hall, who’s 5-foot-9 and 190 pounds, played at Washington. He led the Falcons in receptions and yards receiving in the exhibition season, with eight catches for 151 yards.

Hall, 24, was not drafted in 2016 but signed with the Raiders after a minicamp tryout. He’s also spent some time with the Cardinals. He played at Dorsey High in Los Angeles, before playing at Washington where he played in 42 games and had 25 catches for 409 yards and one touchdown. He also returned punts and kickoffs.

Hill rushed 26 times for 41 yards in the exhibition season before he was slowed by an ankle injury. He was beaten out by Terron Ward. He was active for two games (Detroit and Buffalo), but did not play.

Hill, who was taken 156th overall, rushed for 4,287 yards at Wyoming, but had trouble making decisions in the Falcons’ outside-zone running scheme.

After he was selected, Hill declared, “The Falcons just got the best running back in this draft in the fifth round.”
