Here’s Falcons quarterback Matt Schaub on the Seahawks and on possibly starting Sunday’s game, which begins at 1 p.m. at Mercedes-Benz Stadium:

Q: What jumps out to you about the Seahawks’ defense?

A: "They are just like all of their defenses in the past. They are physical and active. They will get after you upfront. They have some good players and have some of the better linebackers that we will face in this league."

Q: Are you ready to step in if needed?

A: "I have to do my job, and that is my role for this team. If I am called upon to go out there and play, then I have to perform my role as the quarterback. I have to lead the offense, get completions, know game situations, convert third downs and score in the red zone."

Q: What’s the mindset to stay ready?

A: "Just getting some reps on the field with the (first string) as opposed to the (scout team) offense. I can get more physical reps."
