With a projected record of 12-4, the Atlanta Falcons are the predicted to be the best team in Pro Football Focus' 2017 NFC Projections.

After winning the 2016 NFC Conference title, the Falcons’ collapsed in the Super Bowl and lost offensive coordinator Kyle Shanahan to the San Francisco 49ers.

Regardless of last season’s ending, PFF’s Nathan Jahnke wrote the Falcons could still be on their way to another playoff run.

“For the most part, their starting lineup will look the same as it did in the Super Bowl, and if anything it could be better,” Jahnke wrote. “Desmond Trufant is one of the better cornerbacks in the game and he will be returning from his pectoral injury. Since joining the league in 2013 he’s allowed 0.98 yards per coverage snap, which is fifth-best for corners with 2000 or more snaps.”
