Sancho Lyttle hit two free throws with eight seconds left. After Connecticut missed a 3-pointer, Chamique Holdsclaw added a free throw for the final margin.

"It was a little bit of a nail biter there at the end," Dream coach Marynell Meadors said. "But our team hung in there."

Due to events at Philips Arena this month, the Dream play their next five games on the road. They don't return home until July 30.
