The dates for the first Chick-fil-A Kickoff to feature two games were released Thursday, and they are scheduled for consecutive days over Labor Day weekend.

N.C. State and Tennessee will play Friday, Aug. 31, followed by Clemson-Auburn Saturday, Sept. 1.

Both games will be played in the Georgia Dome.

The Friday game will be broadcast on ESPNU. The Saturday game will be televised by ABC or ESPN. Game times have not been set for either.

More than 145,000 fans are expected to be in Atlanta for the games. Chick-fil-A Bowl officials will offer events for each fan base. The Chick-Fil-A Bowl’s news release called the event a first in college football history.

Those two games will be preceded at the Georgia Dome by Georgia State’s season opener against South Carolina State on Aug. 30. The dome handled a similar challenge last year, when the Falcons, Georgia State and Georgia played on the first three days of September.

Alabama and Virginia Tech are scheduled to play in the Kickoff in 2013, their second matchup in the Kickoff. Chick-fil-A Bowl president Gary Stokan is trying to create a second game in 2014 in addition to the Boise State-Mississippi matchup.
