D’Andre Swift became the fourth player in the UGA history to rush for 1,000 yards in his sophomore season of 2018.

A similar performance in 2019 will help him leap into the top 10 on Georgia’s career rushing yards list.

Swift had 1,049 yards last season (joining Herschel Walker, Knowshon Moreno and Sony Michel as UGA sophomores with 1,000-plus yards) and has 1,667 yards in his two seasons in Athens. Another 1,000-plus yard season would vault Swift past the likes of Robert Edwards, Tim Worley and Rodney Hampton into eighth all-time.

Swift rushed for 618 yards as a freshman while two of the top three all-time leading rushers - Nick Chubb and Sony Michel - were seniors on Georgia’s SEC championship and national runnerup squad.

Here’s the top 10 on the career rushing yards list:

5,259: Herschel Walker, 1980-82

4,769: Nick Chubb, 2014-17

3,638: Sony Michel, 2014-17

3,285: Todd Gurley, 2012-14

3,232: Garrison Hearst, 1990-92
