Former University of Georgia football coach and athletics director Vince Dooley celebrates his 87th birthday Sept. 4.

Born in 1932 in Mobile, Ala., Dooley won 201 games in 25 seasons at Georgia and coached the Bulldogs to the 1980 national championship. Dooley is a member of the College Football Hall of Fame and will have the field at Sanford Stadium named in his honor Saturday during Georgia’s home opener against Murray State.
