Two Georgia State baseball players were selected in the amateur baseball draft on Wednesday.

Third baseman Matt Rose was selected by the Cubs in the 11th round and right-handed pitcher Nathan Bates was taken by the Angels in the 15th round.

Rose hit 16 home runs this season with 49 RBIs on a .289 batting average.

Bates, 6-foot-7, went 5-3 with a 4.15 ERA this season.

It was the second consecutive year at least two Georgia State players were selected.
